This folk toy consisting of blocks of wood held together by strings or ribbons. It is "a toy that does some very weird things." When the ladder is held at one end, blocks appear to cascade down the strings.

Jacob's ladder is an old toy made of six blocks of wood, which are connected by ribbons. If you take only the top piece and turn it, then the pieces under it turn alternately to the left and to the right and fall down. This is surprising. The event repeats, if you turn the top piece upside down.

Great little birthday "happy"

This was a hit for my ten-year-old, as a little extra birthday present. I like it too, quite mesmerizing. Well made, lovely wood.
